Matthew was born in Sydney, and has since lived in London, LA, the Greater Bay Area, and now resides in Dallas, Texas. He is a Product Designer at Toyota's start-up division - Connected Technologies, responsible and leading design for the next generation of in-cabin experiences and displays.
Despite being colourblind, he has worked closely with UX professionals from various companies & agencies, influencing him to where he is now — at the intersection of mobility and UX. He is a life long believer, designer, and learner. Matt has shaped digital experiences through designing and launching websites, mobile apps, and now automotive interfaces.
In 2018, he worked on an oncology website that received a silver award for digital marketing under the website category from the Health Care Communicators of San Diego.
In 2019, he has interned at Canoo, an EV startup, where he increased customer email newsletter subscriptions by 267% through designing and developing the company site in preparation for subscription acquisition & first public unveiling.
He then became a Fellow within the Everett Program specializing in tech, design, and product. In 2019, he recorded a digestible UX Research and Design lecture that will be accessible by the entire UC school system. In 2020, he was a HCD tech lab instructor for 16 students that increased design confidence & familiarity by 21% for project implementation. He also managed to reduce the current site's information architecture by 17% to increase information clarity and achieved a 76.5% increase in page visits duration within a 45 day span during his website redesign of the program.

Transitioning out of university, he joined Workdom, a Silicon Valley-based digital design & marketing agency as their UX/Digital Designer where he lead and successfully launched redesigns, and created digital materials/assets and ads to promote products, improve website traffic, and increase conversions.
He is a proponent of climate change, sustainability, ethical design, and hopes to be part of design-centric solutions out there to implement meaningful change.
